Back again, with a Scrappin' Patch Challenge

Haven't been here for a long time!  This is a layout I have created for the October recipe challenge over at Scrappin' Patch.  It is of my youngest daughter Claire when she was about 6.  She is now 12 and was away this week for her first school camp - I missed her!

I've used the 3 patterned papers (Basic Grey and Simple Stories), masking, doily, layering, two brads and ribbon (in the flowers I made) and a staple.

Another challenge...

Finished this layout today for Challenge Me Happy - I am really happy with the colour combo in this one and used a few scraps of paper, made an organza and tulle flower and punched the little butterflies with my new punch. The alphas and big butterfly are Pink Paislee.

Hope everyone is having a good Anzac Day!

Back to it at last...

Finally got to do some scrapbooking (yay for the school holidays and time off work) and get back to this blog which reminds me of  a piece of scrap paper at the moment.  My best intentions to get something up once a week just don't seem to be working out to well so far, maybe one day! And I would like to have it looking a bit more professional one day but I am still learning how to do this...

So this is a layout I have done for the Scrappin' Patch blog based on this sketch

Still back in 2007 with Claire getting ready to go to school, but remember it well as I had a few tears that day with my baby growing up! I've used some very old Basic Grey patterned paper in the background and som October Afternoon rubons and tag, some random stamping and chipboard circles.

Having trouble with deadlines....

I am quite pleased with myself as I have managed to complete two layouts and a couple of cards this week.  However I missed both deadlines for the challenges I was doing! Never mind I will share them here...

This first one was for the Once Upon A...Sketch March challenge(http://onceuponasketchblog.blogspot.co.nz)
I've used some Basic Grey pp, doilies, my new butterfly punch from Stampin' Up, doilies, chipboard cogs and some washi tape.

This next one was for http://csicolorstoriesinspiration.ning.com/ , Case File no 64.

Some MME chipboard and old Scenic Route chipboard, Prima stamp and leaves and flowers, homemade the hessian and ribbon flower, various old rubons and pp.

So am having a pretty good Easter break, scrapbooking, shopping and eating chocolate - what more could a girl want?!!!

Today maybe I'll scrapbook...

Have been too busy and tired this week with people coming to stay, going out and back to school and work to find time to do any scrapping.  I am feeling withdrawal symptoms so am hoping to do some this afternoon, after the housework!  In the meantime I thought I'd share a layout I did during the school holidays.  Glimmer mist and homemade masked background, Glitz pp, some Kaisercraft diecuts, Simple stories sticker and bits and pieces.

First ever post

Ok, (deep breath), this is my first ever post on my first ever blog.  It is a little daunting for me as I am not one to put myself out there as a rule.  However, I've created this blog as I want to develop my scrapbooking and, for me, one of the best ways is to participate in scrapbooking challenges.  I appreciate the inspiration, comments and constructive criticism of other online scrappers - hopefully I will be able to give a little as well.  So I intend to post a couple of scrapbooking projects (probably challenges from other sites) each month - that is my challenge to myself for 2013!
